Why did you self-publish Eternal Seduction?
I decided to self-publish Eternal Seduction because after receiving full manuscript requests from multiple agents, most of whom loved the novel and my writing/voice, none thought they could sell such a dark series at the time (early 2008). Logan Ellis, the heroine of Eternal Seduction, was the main problem. I was given the option to change Logan’s character (a homeless, drug addict) to help lighten the overall tone of the novel and then resubmit the manuscript, but after heavy consideration – I chose not to. I thought then, and still think now, that the majority of paranormal romance readers were/are more than ready for more non-traditional hero’s and heroine’s. So, with the opinions from some really great agents that my writing abilities were up to par, I decided to publish Eternal Seduction myself, under the Dark Dreams Press imprint.
When will Eternal Hearts (Book #2) be released?
Eternal Hearts officially released on June 1, 2011.
When will Eternal Embrace (Book #3) be released?
Eternal Embrace and the remaining books in the Darkness Within series are currently ON HOLD until further notice. (Please see Jen's news updates for more in-depth information.)
If Eternal Hearts and/or the Darkness Within series isn’t picked up by a major publisher will you self-publish the rest of the series?
Abso-freakin-lutely.
Self-publishing is a lot of work, but I’ll happily do it to keep the series running for the readers who’ve enjoyed it. After all, I’ve been warned that I can’t stop the series until Odin gets a book, lest I wish to endure mass amounts of bodily harm.
Will Odin get his own book?
YES!
Odin’s book, Eternal Embers, is currently scheduled to be #5 in the series.
